Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Staff Accountant in the Construction/Contractor industry, located in Roseville, Minnesota. This role is primarily focused on project accounting, providing critical financial support to our construction projects. As a Staff Accountant, you will play an integral role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information related to our projects. Responsibilities: • Ensuring the accurate and timely coding and processing of subcontractor and supplier invoices, including verification of approval. • Thoroughly reviewing the construction contract requirements for assigned projects to ensure all financial aspects are properly managed. • Proactively monitoring customer and subcontractor contract amounts and change orders in our financial system. • Ensuring all project costs are appropriately accounted for and processed in a timely manner. • Preparing and reconciling project billings, making sure all allowable costs are billed promptly. • Keeping track of subcontractor lien waivers, for all applicable Tiers (I, II, III & IV) and ensuring they are collected and recorded accurately. • Preparing necessary journal entries to keep financial records up-to-date and accurate. • Conducting regular account and monthly reconciliations, including bank reconciliations and general ledger checks. • Ensuring completed projects are closed out on time, adhering to the close documents. • Identifying any costs improperly charged to a project and rectifying the error. Requirements • Proven experience in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) • Proficiency in Bank Reconciliations and Account Reconciliation • Extensive knowledge in managing General Ledger and Journal Entries • Demonstrated ability in performing Month End Close procedures • Experience in Monthly Reconciliation • Familiarity with Job Cost and Project Cost methods • Construction/Contractor industry experience preferred • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
