Staff Accountant

The Staff Accountant will ensure local finance and accounting tasks, including daily and month-end bank reconciliations for multiple companies are executed in an accurate and timely fashion. This position will play a critical role in ensuring that bank transactions are accurate, up-to-date and compliant with Albireo’s standards. An individual in this position will be expected to perform additional job-related responsibilities and duties throughout the facility as assigned and or as necessary.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: An individual must be able to successfully perform the essential functions of this position with or without a reasonable accommodation.
+ Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations for multiple bank accounts across Albireo in a timely manner, while ensuring accuracy.
+ Review and reconcile discrepancies between bank statements and the general ledger.
+ Thoroughly investigate and resolve discrepancies and errors in a timely manner.
+ Prepare and maintain accurate records of bank transactions and adjustments.
+ Assist in the timely preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting across Albireo.
+ Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations regarding bank accounts.
+ Maintain and improve reconciliation processes to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
+ Maintain sound accounting and financial practices and procedures and strive to present accurate, factual reports across Albireo.
+ Perform ad hoc reporting including in-depth analysis as requested.
+ Adjust and adapt as circumstances change. Add value in a rapidly growing company.
+ Handle other duties and projects as needed including journal entries, reconciliations and month end close activities.
+ Support a performance-based culture, both team and individual, to assure continuous improvement and alignment with enterprise vision, mission, and objectives.
+ Ensure that all quality and safety standards, specifications and policies are met, drive continuous improvements, and collaborate with the team to drive efficiencies.
+ Support a culture based on open/honest dialogue and involvement with all team members that demonstrates the value of their input and engagement in improving performance.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting preferred, however, an equivalent combination of education and experience (High School Diploma or GED equivalent a minimum requirement) will also be considered.
+ 2 years of relevant work experience in the field or related area that provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities for the job, more specifically, focus on bank reconciliations.
+ Must be able to work independently, support many divisions and wear many hats when the need arises.
+ Experienced in working with ERP systems. Microsoft Dynamics AX ERP – highly desirable.
+ Ability to meet deadlines and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
+ Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism.
+ Proven track record of adding value to businesses beyond a “number crunching” role. Ability to critically analyze results and reconciliations to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
+ Strong understanding of accounting principles and procedures and proficiency in EXCEL, including formulas, pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
+ Strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking, self-initiative and attention to detail.
+ Commitment to “open door” and comfort with production floor presence and contact with all field employees.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills; high quality document and report preparation; Advanced excel skills required.
+ Experience working in an entrepreneurial environment requiring strong multi-tasking abilities.

Salary $70K-$76K DOE.
