Description We are in search of a Staff Accountant to join our client's team. The Staff Accountant will play a critical role in supporting daily financial operations, managing inventory accounting processes, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This position requires a proactive individual with experience in accounting functions, particularly within the manufacturing industry. Main Responsibilities: General Accounting Duties: + Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness. + Reconcile bank statements, accounts payable, and accounts receivable balances. + Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. + Maintain compliance with GAAP and company policies. Inventory Accounting Tasks: + Monitor and reconcile inventory accounts, including tracking raw materials, work in progress, and finished goods. + Assist with monthly inventory counts and ensure proper valuation of inventory using standard costing or other relevant methodologies. + Analyze inventory variances and provide insights to manufacturing teams on usage and cost trends. + Work closely with procurement and operations to resolve discrepancies in inventory records. Other Responsibilities: + Support the annual external audit process by preparing requested schedules and providing documentation. + Contribute to process improvement initiatives in accounting workflows and systems. + Stay updated on current accounting regulations and industry best practices.
