Description
We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant in OAKBROOK TERRACE, Illinois, United States. The Staff Accountant will perform essential accounting functions to ensure compliance with financial reporting standards and regulations. This role requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in accounting software, and the ability to meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:
• Ensure accuracy in the general ledger, prepare journal entries, and reconcile accounts
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, ensuring compliance with GAAP standards
• Efficiently process invoices, monitor collections, and manage accounts payable and receivable
• Contribute to budgeting and financial forecasting, providing variance analysis when required
• Support internal and external audit processes and ensure adherence to financial regulations
• Utilize ERP software for efficient financial data management and reporting
• Collaborate with senior accountants, finance teams, and non-finance stakeholders on cross-functional projects
• Perform bank reconciliations, general ledger management, and month-end close activities
• Handle accounting entries and account reconciliation tasks
• Manage credit card reconciliation procedures.

Requirements • Candidate must hold a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role
• Proficiency in executing bank reconciliations is required
• Experience with general ledger maintenance and management is essential
• Ability to prepare and review journal entries is necessary
• Must be adept at handling month-end close procedures
• Skill in creating accurate accounting entries is vital
• Experience in account reconciliation is a must
• Knowledge of credit card reconciliation is required
