Staff Accountant
+ We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our dynamic team. The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting Accounting, Inventory and Operations functions within the Operations Finance Team. This position will serve as the backup to the senior accounting team, learning all aspects of the close cycle, cash flows (AP, AR, Treasury) and be a liaison to internal sales organization monitoring rebates and commissions, and work closely with Operations Controller to acquire full understanding of accounting and manufacturing process. Position will be based in the Wilkesboro, NC manufacturing facility. Responsibilities: + Accurate and timely production of all financial information, implement, document and maintain adequate and effective processes to improve the close and reporting cycles. + Preparation of monthly close process and month end balances. Assist with the preparation and review of monthly financial statements + Assist with the preparation of year end closing procedures. + Analyze and reconcile bank statements and general ledgers. + Partner with Inventory Control Team to monitor inventory levels and build metrics / reporting to identify risk and opportunity. + Actively participate in factory physical inventory process. (Daily plant cycle counting and quarterly enhanced inventory counts.) + Actively participate in annual budget process. + Works with external auditors on account support and information requests. + Complete other duties and ad hoc projects as assigned. Job Requirements: + Financial Reporting-Experience in preparing and maintaining accurate financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements) in accordance with GAAP. + General Ledger Management-Proficient in managing the general ledger, ensuring proper coding of transactions, and reconciling accounts to ensure accuracy. + Accounts Payable/Receivable-Skilled in processing invoices, managing vendor payments, and tracking outstanding receivables to maintain healthy cash flow. + Reconciliations-Expertise in performing bank, credit card, and other account reconciliations on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. + Tax Preparation-Knowledge of tax regulations and experience in preparing sales tax filings, quarterly tax returns, and assisting in year-end tax reporting. + Audit Support-Experience in preparing audit schedules, providing documentation, and supporting external and internal audits to ensure compliance. + Budgeting & Forecasting- Ability to assist in the creation of budgets and financial forecasts, analyzing variances to ensure financial goals are met. + Internal Controls & Compliance-Strong understanding of internal controls and processes to ensure financial accuracy and regulatory compliance. + Financial Software Proficiency-Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting. + Communication & Teamwork-Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and assist management with financial decision-making. EXPERIENCE: + Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or related field required + Minimum 1-3 years experience in general/coat accounting, standard coast, and manufacturing finance operations + ERP systems experience required. Experience with Syspro is preferred + Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business instructions and governmental regulations + Ability to write reports, businesses correspondence and procedure manuals.
