Job Overview:
The Staff Accountant is responsible for the day-to-day requirements for Accounts Receivable, including the daily reconciliations of all deposits, merchant services, and bank deposits, and related analysis in support of Aqua Quip’s financial close and reporting processes. This role manages the AR aging and past due account collections as well as monthly GL account reconciliations. The position is based in Renton Washington.
Responsibilities:
Prepare weekly/monthly journal entries (cash transactions, accruals and reclasses) Support retail store needs such as oversee refund process, update resale certificates, 3rd party financing oversight, filing of store deposit logs, etc. Prepare assigned reconciliations consistent with Company policy and internal control standards. Prepare various financial reporting schedules utilized in the Company's internal/external reporting. Answer accounting questions by researching and interpreting data Create and assist with support schedules and questions related to our quarterly reviews and annual audits. Identify and implement process improvements with manager assistance. Document processes and cross-train in other areas to provide support during absences. Assist with ad hoc reporting and special projects as needed. Work closely with Corporate Controller daily.Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required. Progression towards CPA certification preferred. 1-3 years of accounting/finance experience in a similar role working with the general ledger Foundational understanding of U.S. GAAP and internal controls required. Effective verbal and written communications, including active listening skills, problem solving skills and presentation skills. Organized and extremely detail-oriented; ability to manage multiple projects and workstreams. Process oriented with a strong knowledge of applicable general ledger systems and accounting. Intermediate competency in Excel and proficient with other Microsoft Office suite products (e.g., One Note, Word, PowerPoint)PAY: $70,000 - $75,000 Annually
