We are seeking a talented individual to join our Revenue team at Marsh McLennan. This role will be based in Urbandale, and it is a hybrid role with a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
As a Staff Accountant I, you will be part of the Revenue Accruals, Deferrals & Shares team. The team works on revenue accruals, deferrals, shares and various other revenue areas within the four operating companies that makes up Marsh McLennan. This opportunity has a fixed term of 6 months.
We will count on you to:
Prepare, review, and approve journal entries, consolidated statements, and client account reconciliations while analyzing and maintaining the general ledger accountsResearch accounting policy and reporting issues, prepare position paper/policy on related subject, prepare financial statements and disclosures, and reconcile to appropriate support informationPrepare and analyze revenue and expense reports; coordinate revenue and expense accruals and ensure timely and accurate monthly and quarterly closePerform variation and trend analysis for key general ledger accounts carriers, clients, administrative systems, financial statement line items, and related disclosures, including Management's discussion and analysis; findings may be presented to senior managementReview internal processes and procedures, provide recommendations to management for improvement, and assist/lead implementation of process changes and projectsEnsure compliance with corporate policies, carrier agreements, SOX procedures, SSAE16 procedures tax regulations, local GAAP and US GAAP and local statutory regulations (as applicable) regarding financial mattersPrepare ad hoc analyses as assignedWhat you need to have:
