Description Are you a detail-oriented and dedicated Staff Accountant with a passion for supporting the non-profit sector? We have an exciting immediate contract position available for a Staff Accountant to join a reputable non-profit organization in the Spokane, WA area. As a staffing firm committed to connecting top talent with impactful organizations, we are seeking a motivated and experienced accountant to handle financial reporting, account reconciliation, and other critical accounting functions for our client. Key Responsibilities: + Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts. + Prepare financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders. + Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes. + Monitor and track donations, grants, and other revenue sources. + Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accuracy and timely payments. + Assist with budgeting and forecasting for various programs and initiatives. + Ensure compliance with non-profit accounting standards and regulatory requirements. + Work closely with the finance team to support audit preparations. + Other duties as needed to support the accounting department. Requirements Preferred Experience (but not required): + Experience with grant accounting (e.g., tracking, reporting, compliance). + Familiarity with non-profit accounting principles, including fund accounting. + Experience using accounting software specific to the non-profit sector. Qualifications: + 3+ years of accounting experience, with a focus on non-profit or fund accounting (preferred). + Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software. + Knowledge of GAAP and non-profit financial regulations. + Excellent communication and organizational skills. + Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. + Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
