Staff Analyst Trainee

PLEASE INDICATE ON YOUR RESUME.* JOB DESCRIPTION: The mission of the New York City Police Department is to enhance the quality of life in New York City by working in partnership with the community to enforce the law, preserve peace, protect the people, reduce fear, and maintain order. The NYPD strives to foster a safe and fair city by incorporating Neighborhood Policing into all facets of Department operations and solve the problems that create crime and disorder through an interdependent relationship between the people and its police, and by pioneering strategic innovation. The Pre-Employment Services Unit seeks a candidate to serve as a Staff Analyst Trainee. The specific duties and responsibilities will include: -Create job postings in e-Hire for vacant positions; Promote job advertisements online and in print media; -Review resumes and ensure applicants meets minimum qualifications and preferred skills to determine suitability; -Respond to inquiries from Department personnel and prospective employees; -Assist with the Partners in Education (PIE) Internship Program; Contact Commands and students for assignments and required documentation. -Assist with maintaining multiple databases to capture the Unit’s recruitment activities, community outreach and developed partnerships. -Assist with the maintenance of databases, utilizing various reporting tools for queries. -Participate in recruitment activities such as Career Days, Job Fairs, Hiring Halls, etc. -Manage unit calendar of recruitment events. -Develop and maintain contacts at educational institutions, professional organizations and ethnic and community media outlets to promote NYPD job opportunities. -Perform additional duties as assigned by the Unit’s Supervisor WORK LOCATION: 1 Police Plaza, New York, NY 10038 HOURS/SHIFT: 9-5 Monday through Friday. Qualifications A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college.
