STAFF ASSOCIATE I, ADVISING & ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE (AAP), Undergraduate Advising Center (UAC), to work in the Office of the First Year (OFY) to assist in developing, implementing, and assessing programs that are designed to facilitate academic success, community engagement, social adjustment, and the assimilation to MIT for first-year students; assist in managing Advanced Placement Examinations, International Baccalaureate, A-level, other international exams and transferring credit evaluations for incoming first-year and transfer students; serve as a first-year advisor, a secondary advisor to upper-level students, and a consultant to faculty advisors; aid with the coordination of the Committee on Academic Performance (CAP) meetings in Monthly and End of Term meetings in January and June; advise students in areas such as course selection, degree planning, career paths, and graduate school opportunities while maintaining an understanding of the unique challenges faced by MIT students; keep accurate and up-to-date records on student advising caseload and advising data to inform programmatic and policy decisions; and coordinate all academic programming (including open classes, learning communities’ engagement, Academic Expos, etc.) that the OFY heads throughout the academic year and summer orientation programming.
