Staff AuditorPosition Overview
Under the guidance of audit management the auditor will work on: operational and financial audits, business consulting, special management requests, Sarbanes-Oxley management self-testing and special request projects.
Responsibilities:
The auditor will assist in the development and execution of Internal Audit Group projects.
The auditor will map business processes, perform interviews, conduct control tests, document audit work, create reports, follow up on prior audit findings, and develop business solutions.
During all phases of the project the auditor is expected to proactively identify issues and opportunities, and develop strategies and help implement solutions for achieving desired results.
As part of developing solutions, the auditor must be prepared to challenge the existing ways of doing business and champion change if it improves the company or group.
During the course of a project, the auditor is expected to build professional relationships with the clients. The relationship will be used to help identify issues and opportunities and provide the client with solutions.
The auditor should be able to communicate in a professional manner with all levels of management, including Berkshire Hathaway and external auditors.
Requirements:
Possess 4 year degree in business, preferably in Accounting or Finance and 0-2 years in accounting/auditing.
Strong interpersonal skills; ability to interface with key stakeholders and leaders
Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills both verbal and electronic formats
Strong technical abilities, working with Microsoft Office and ability to learn new systems efficiently
Data analytic skills, utilizing data and transactions to identify errors and provide business insights. Exposure to data analytical tools is a plus.
Working knowledge of internal control and risk-based audit techniques
