ABOUT THE ROLE

Under the direction of the Audit Senior Manager, the Staff Auditor- Professional Practices will be responsible for assisting the Sr. Manager in conducting quality assurance reviews, updating policies and procedures, assisting in developing reporting, and other oversight duties to help ensure the internal audit function is performing objective and independent evaluations of the Bank’s internal control environment through the performance of assigned financial, operational, and regulatory compliance audits.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Under the direction of the Audit Senior Manager, monitor progress of the internal audit plan and other departmental initiatives, and assist in the completion of the annual audit plan. Assist Sr. Manager to help ensure projects have appropriate scope, staffing requirements, deliverables, timelines, budgets, and client availability Assist in developing reporting for management and board discussions Assist Senior Manager in overseeing work performed by the team with a focus on all audit work conducted in accordance with department policies and procedures, the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) “International Professional Practices Framework” (IPPF), and applicable regulatory guidelines. Conduct quality assurance assessments of internal audit work performed Communicate issues noted during the course of assignments with the Audit Senior Manager. Stay current on all accounting, audit, and regulatory trends applicable to position duties and responsibilities. Proactively seek training to enhance audit, management, and technology skills. Interact professionally with all levels of management, external auditors, and regulators. Maintain current knowledge of all federal and state laws and regulations and company policies and procedures

EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE

Bachelor level degree in accounting or related field; Active professional certification preferred (e.g., CIA, CFSA, or CPA); Two or more years of audit experience in an internal audit department and/or external audit firm (with exposure to financial institutions); Working knowledge of IIA Standards, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Standards; Working knowledge of federal and state regulations governing financial institutions including BSA/AML. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong presentation skills. Strong judgement and professional integrity. Ability to work well independently and, when necessary, to be effective in a team environment. Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and web-based software applications.
