We seek an engaged and enthusiastic Staff Software Engineer (Tech Lead) to join our Count Cloud API team. You will join a team where everyone shares a common interest in designing, running, and maintaining our high traffic. We have a mix of microservices and monolithic API applications (written in Python and Kotlin) while striving for simplicity and high development speed. The team’s mission is to ensure the smooth functioning of our core.

Technical Leadership: Staff Software Engineers lead complex projects, providing technical direction and ensuring that engineering teams meet project goals. They are involved in high-level decision-making regarding the technical strategy of the organization. Project Oversight: They oversee multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring that they align with business objectives and technical standards. This includes evaluating existing processes for optimization and collaborating on prototype development. Mentorship: A significant part of their role involves mentoring junior engineers and providing sponsorship to help them advance in their careers. This includes sharing knowledge and best practices while fostering a supportive team environment. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Staff Software Engineers work closely with various teams, including product management and design, to ensure cohesive project execution. They must effectively communicate technical requirements and facilitate discussions among stakeholders. Quality Assurance: They are responsible for maintaining high standards in software development, including implementing quality control measures throughout the project's lifecycle. This may involve resolving structural design issues and ensuring compliance with industry standards.YOU BRING TO PELOTON
8+ years of experience developing high-performance, highly scalable backend cloud application systems Proven experiences in owning the deployments of systems into production Expertise in Kotlin, Python, or similar languages Enjoy triaging low-level system issues and have a knack of introducing automation where you see gaps A valued teammate in a dynamic, autonomous, cross-functional agile team that inspires others Experience mentoring engineers with the team-focused mentality for success Experience with multiple database engines (Postgres, MySql, DynamoDB) Experience with request processing such as REST, gRPC, or GraphQL Exposure to various web services frameworks such as Spring, Flask or similar Have experience using monitoring and metrics to support KPIs and performance of APIs Communicate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders Hands-on experience decomposing monoliths into microservices Hands-on experience designing and building event-driven architectures#LI-RF2

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the anticipated salary range for this position based at our New York City headquarters. The actual base salary offered for this position will depend on numerous factors including individual performance, business objectives, and if the location for the job changes.
