Job Summary

Provide technical support in the Engineering Services department for the Salem Power Uprate Project.  The successful candidate will perform the duties as a System/Commissioning Engineer for the power uprate for Salem Units 1 and 2.  The engineer is responsible for sponsoring and implementing power uprate modifications.

Job Responsibilities

• Assess the required scope of work and exploring various alternative solutions for required modifications.

• Sponsor plant modifications through the plant approval process.

• Fulfill the role of the system lead engineer for modifications.

• Ensure adequate systems integration and fulfill the role of plant systems subject matter experts

• Support changes to the Preventive maintenance and Surveillance Program

• Identify Critical Spare parts

• Support Operations and Maintenance technical procedural changes.

• Prepare and/or support factory and plant startup testing

• Interface with Project Manager to ensure that Engineering deliverables meet the overall project goals.

• Provide field support during modification walkdowns, installation, testing and as-built verification.

• Comply with regulatory requirements including 50.59, License Amendment Request preparation and any required supporting analysis.

• Perform other assigned duties as determined by the Engineering Manager.

• Assigned duties in the Emergency Response Organization

Job Specific Qualifications

Required:

• BS Degree in Mechanical, Civil, Controls or related Engineering or related technical degree with 7-10 years of experience performing related Engineering work in a nuclear power plant or related industry.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in controls system engineering.

• Availability for shift work during installation. 

• Must meet Nuclear requirements for unescorted plant access.

• Must possess a valid US driver's license and maintain a satisfactory driving record. 

Desired:

• Power uprate experience at a pressurized water reactor (PWR)

• Prior Design Engineering configuration control qualification
