Northrop Grumman has an opening for a Staff Cost Estimating Analyst to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located on site in Melbourne, FL.
The Production Operations Estimating organization utilizes specialized analysts with backgrounds in manufacturing with high-end analytical skills. This unique skill set is required due to the need to convert limited information, such as weight of specific materials and components, into a cohesive estimate – sometimes with limited or no actual design data to go by. All analysts within this group vary in experience but are subject matter experts within operations and cost estimating.
The Staff Cost Estimating Analyst is expected to develop solutions to complex problems that regularly require the use of ingenuity and innovation. They must also be able to review available data using existing models as well as design and create new models that meet the need and utilize available information. Once complete, the analyst must effectively communicate technical approaches and findings to both technical and non-technical individuals at all levels of leadership in preparation for submission to the Program (via presentation) for inclusion in the Pricing Volume of a Proposal or other deliverable.
Essential Functions:
Estimates labor costs of manufacturing and engineering based on request for proposal (RFP) data submitted by prospective customersAnalyzes specifications, including sketches, blueprints, bills of material, or sample layouts, and calculates production costs using labor and material pricing schedules and historical dataCollects cost data from functional representatives, subcontractors, and vendorsFamiliar with MES and CPLMComputes cost estimates utilizing various estimating methodologies (historical, standards, parametric, etc.)Prepares and maintains historical cost dataCreates cost models for cost estimating elementsPrepares cost reports and presents findings to management, contract personnel, proposal coordinators, etc.Ability to work on a team and build cross-functional (both technical and non-technical) relationships with customers and colleagues to ensure successBasic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with 12 years of cost estimating, manufacturing, and/or business-related experience, or a Master's degree with 10 years of stated experienceAdvanced experience with Microsoft Office tools, specifically performing Least Square Regression, Pivot Table Analysis, and application of Improvement CurvesKnowledge of aerospace production operation functions, tasks, and processesIn-depth understanding of Manufacturing and Support Labor and how they interactActive DoD Secret Clearance, awarded/reviewed within the last 5 years, and the ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access prior to startPreferred Qualifications:

Salary Range: $122,100.00 - $183,100.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
