One of our most challenging new fields is Microelectronics Design and Applications (MDA), which combines the unique properties of superconductivity and quantum mechanics to develop radical new energy-efficient computing systems. MDA is seeking a Systems Engineering Integration & Test (SEIT) Staff Custom Hardware SEIT Lead to join our team. You’ll work in a fast-paced team environment alongside physicists, design engineers, and superconducting foundry engineers to make these technologies a reality.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Track and develop requirements for custom hardware designs that enable test and operations for our super-conducting chips.Define custom control, data, clocking, and power interfaces between room temperature equipment and devices under test in the cryostat.Track development tasks and progress across an assortment of custom hardware designs.Act as the technical interface between the custom hardware team and other programs in the MDA OU.This position will serve on-site in Linthicum/ Annapolis Junction, MD.
Basic Qualifications for Staff Custom Hardware SEIT Lead:
Bachelor's degree in a STEM area (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math), with 12+ years of experience in engineering of systems supporting hardware development and integration or MS in STEM with 10 years of related experience, or PhD in a STEM discipline with 8 years of related experience.Demonstrated experience in hardware development (RF, Power, Digital Design, Analog Design)Experience in Systems Engineering early requirements development.Demonstrated experience in leading, directing, and prioritizing team tasks.Strong documentation skills.Experience in formal design review processes.Develop and Define system functional/performance requirement and interfacesPerform analysis of alternatives and technical trade studiesManage risk and opportunity and the production of core engineering work products and track the work products and associated program dependencies in the program scheduleThis position requires the applicant to be a U.S. citizen.Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI with poly clearance per business requirements.Preferred Qualifications for Staff Custom Hardware SEIT Lead:
Active TS/SCI with poly security clearanceKnowledge of RF Solutions.Knowledge of custom DC power designs.Knowledge of system level clocking (i.e. master oscillators not time of day clock).Knowledge of FPGA and/or ASIC development and implementation.Knowledge of Systems Engineering processing from generation of an Integrated Master Plan (IMP) to Work Product Breakdown into Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) for the development of complex systems of systems.Risk Management experience.#MDASEIT
