Staff Cyber Engineer

Sterling Heights, MI

Contract Position

$65.41-$70.41/Hour 

Join a team dedicated to designing and producing armored combat and support vehicles. As a prime mover in ground force capabilities, this firm provides innovative solutions that ensure the safety and effectiveness of military personnel worldwide, focusing on durability, mobility, and performance.

Responsibilities:

Secure armored combat and support vehicles, leading cyber architecture, compliance, and technology integration to support C5ISR systems for ground combat platforms.Develop and manage cybersecurity architecture, evaluation, testing, and compliance for C5ISR systems in U.S. ground combat platforms.Ensure a balanced, integrated, and compliant cybersecurity design across vehicle systems in coordination with engineering and program leadership.Establish and implement cyber-physical design best practices, tools, and training across the engineering organization.Define and manage system requirements, interface allocations, and performance specifications including SWaP-CRaM (Space, Weight, Power-Cooling, Reliability, and Maintenance).Lead trade studies and structured decisions for system and subsystem design, balancing cybersecurity, cost, and performance.Develop and oversee verification plans, including testing, production, and field site validation.Lead Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations for cybersecurity-related production, development, and testing issues.Evaluate and integrate new cybersecurity and C5ISR technologies into ground combat vehicle systems.Manage and participate in peer reviews, checkpoint evaluations, and compliance assessments to ensure system integrity.Collaborate with Design Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) on threat analysis, interface development, and requirements decomposition.

Qualifications:

Educational Requirements:

Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related discipline (Relevant cybersecurity technical certifications and management credentials considered).

Clearance Requirements:

Eligibility to obtain a U.S. security clearance (Non-U.S. citizens may not qualify).

Experience Requirements:

7+ years of experience in cybersecurity, military vehicle development, or engineering project leadership.Experience leading engineering and/or military technical development projects.Experience developing and managing system-level cybersecurity requirements.

Technical Skills & Knowledge:

Expertise in cyber warfare (offensive/defensive), embedded systems, and military-related cybersecurity.Experience interpreting high-level cybersecurity requirements and translating them into technical solutions.Familiarity with electrical Line Replaceable Units (LRUs), electronic hardware development, and troubleshooting.Understanding of cyber-physical system security requirements.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project).Ability to travel up to 15% (domestic and international).Must pass Anthropometric Size Requirement (ASR) testing for working in confined spaces inside military vehicles.
