Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is looking to add a Staff Data Center Architect – Network Communications to our team in Chantilly, VA. This position will be in our Avionics Integration Organization.
The selected candidate will be responsible for integrating and testing software/hardware systems in complex IT systems and will be working independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment working closely with customers and key stakeholders
Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Design and maintain an on-premise multi-tenant data center environment.Act as point of contract (POC) for the customer on all technical related issues, including Tier 1-3 support.Develop engineering documentation for system configurationExecute engineering projects on schedule.Generate and redline documented procedures and troubleshoot.Demonstrate good coordination, planning, and documentation skills.Implement engineering changes to the system as requiredThe selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations and significantly diverse assignments with the ability to work independently.
This role will be required to work full-time, independently on-site at customer facility. There is no remote / hybrid / telework available for this position and it will require the ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 12 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 10 years of related engineering experience; OR a PhD in a STEM discipline with 7 years of related engineering experience. (Four years of additional related engineering experience will suffice in lieu of degree.)Demonstrated experience in IT disciplines, some of which should be in a lead roleDemonstrated experience with software virtualization productsDemonstrated experience in strategic planning/roadmap development and execution for operational systemsDemonstrated experience with modern virtualization software and releases (Azure, VMware or similar).Ability to obtain and maintain CompTIA Security+ Certificate. This certificate must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.Active in-Scope, DoD Top Secret clearanceAbility to obtain and maintain SCI with Lifestyle Polygraph access once in position within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needsAbility to obtain and maintain initial Special Program Access (SAP/PAR). This SAP/PAR must be obtained prior to commencement of employment and must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
