What you’ll do day-to-day (with your colleagues):

Engage in the whole lifecycle of services—from inception and design, through deployment, operations, and refinement.Maintain services once they are live by measuring and monitoring availability, latency, and overall system healthScale systems sustainably, and evolve services by identifying changes that improve reliability, cost, and performanceDevelop resilient operational services that provide key functionality for operationsPractice sustainable incident response and blameless postmortemsParticipate in the Agile software development processProvide timely support to our 24x7 operations teams including on-call supportNatural curiosity and ability to continually learn about our evolving complex ground system

Minimum Requirements:

Must be U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance.Ability to troubleshoot operational issues across multiple complex systems and propose and implement new solutions.Understand the fundamentals of CI/CD, container infrastructure life cycle, software source control (git/github)Experience with cloud computing (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)Understanding of software design, development and troubleshootingDevelopment experience in one or more of the following languages: C, C++, Java, Python, Go, Perl, TypeScript, or RubyExperience supporting software running in a Linux OS2+ years experience in DevOps or Software Development or similar fieldBachelor's degree or higher in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.  Four additional years of experience may be substituted for a degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

Active Secret or Top-Secret clearance desirableAWS Associate or Professional Certification highly desiredExperience with Python or TypeScriptExperience with log aggregation tools like Elastic StackExperience with Docker and KubernetesUnderstanding of Service Oriented and Microservice ArchitecturesAbility to troubleshoot operational issues across multiple complex systems and propose and implement new solutions.

In support of pay transparency at Maxar, we disclose salary ranges on all of our U.S. job postings. We use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range. To accommodate all locations, we have listed the bottom to the top of the possible range, and will share the target range for a specific location during the recruiting discussion. Individual pay will be competitive based on a candidates unique set of knowledge, skills, and geographic diversity, with earnings potential commensurate with experience. The range for this position is:

$89,000.00 - $189,000.00 annually.

Additionally, this position is incentive eligible with a target based on contribution, company performance, and/or individual results achieved; the specific incentive plan and target amount will be determined based on the role and breadth of contributions.
