Job Description
Design, develop, and test PCBAs and system-level electronic components, including cable assemblies, in accordance with medical device regulatory standards. Contribute to product development activities by owning hardware and firmware design, defining and performing engineering studies, test and assembly fixture design and automation, while working closely with cross-functional teams. Engage in R&D activities, conduct proofs of concept for electronics, robotics, and computer vision-driven systems, and write technical documentation including product requirements, design specifications, and test protocols. Provide engineering guidance and mentorship to junior staff, and implement best practices in engineering design. Perform verification testing for all electromechanical systems, including EMC electrical safety testing, and contribute to design improvements of production-released products. Maintain relationships and provide engineering support to key vendors and product stakeholders.
ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and test PCBAs and system-level electronic components, including cable assemblies in accordance with medical device regulatory standards.Contribute to product development activities, including hardware and firmware design, defining and performing engineering studies, and test and assembly fixture design and automation.Engage in R&D activities, conduct proofs of concept for electronics, robotics, and computer vision-driven systems.Write technical documentation including product requirements, design specifications, and test protocols.Provide engineering guidance and mentorship to junior staff, and implement best practices in engineering design.Perform verification testing for all electromechanical systems, including EMC electrical safety testing.Contribute to design improvements of production-released products.Maintain relationships and provide engineering support to key vendors and product stakeholders.Essential SkillsExperience with PCB schematic and layout design (Altium preferred).Experience with medical device development, manufacturing, and regulatory compliance (IEC standards).Proficiency in writing technical documentation including product requirements, design specifications, and test protocols.Experience performing verification testing for electromechanical systems, including EMC electrical safety testing.Strong background in hardware NPI, including design controls and phased product development from prototype to manufacturing transfer.Understanding of hardware engineering concepts (electrical, firmware, robotics).Proven track record of developing commercialized products, preferably medical devices.Experience with C code and firmware development environments.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience using Arena PLM, Jira, Bitbucket, and other design control tools.Experience performing EMC testing, with medical compliance testing preferred.Familiarity with high-speed digital and video design concepts.FPGA experience preferred.Understanding of medical device regulatory compliance (ISO, FDA CFR821).Work Environment

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $110000.00 - $170000.00/yr.
