Role Summary As a Staff Electronic Design Engineer on the Infotainment hardware team, you will play a pivotal role in developing cutting-edge Infotainment electronic control units (ECUs). You will lead technical design efforts, define requirements, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring high-performance designs from concept to scaled production. This position will be based in Palo Alto, CA, and requires you to work on-site and will report to the Sr. Manager of Electronic Design. Responsibilities • Lead the development, validation, and production scaling of Infotainment electronic control units (ECUs) • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware and software architecture, mechanical design, reliability, manufacturing, test automation, and design validation • Create detailed ECU design requirement documents and comprehensive hardware bring-up plans • Oversee PCBA floor-planning, high-speed design recommendations, thermal strategies, layout constraints, EMI/EMC optimization, and signal integrity/power integrity analysis • Conduct bring-up and electrical characterization of power supplies, multi-core processors, RF modules, sensors, and displays • Support failure investigations during both development and production phases • Partner with contract manufacturers and participate in onsite visits to facilitate major build events • Provide integration support for Infotainment ECUs within the overall vehicle platform Qualifications • Strong fundamentals in analog and digital electronics • Solid understanding of systems engineering principles and requirements flow-down • Proficient in schematic capture and PCB design layout tools • Hands-on lab experience with equipment and adherence to best lab practices • Familiarity with circuit simulation tools or MATLAB for worst-case circuit analysis • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with 6+ years or a Master’s degree with 4+ years of relevant experience Additional Preferred Qualifications: • Experience in optimizing PCB stack-ups for reliability, cost, and manufacturability • Experience with Python or similar scripting languages for automation and testing • Understanding of ISO26262 processes Pay Disclosure Salary Range for Northern California Based Candidates: $167,400 - $209,300 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
