Overview: Universal Engineering Sciences (UES) has an opening in our Geotechnical Department. UES is a nationwide leader in Geotechnical Engineering, Construction Materials Testing and Inspection, Building Code Compliance, Environmental, Occupational Health & Safety, and Building Envelope.

We maintain multiple state-of-the-art in-house drilling departments and full-service, certified geotechnical laboratories with offices from Florida to California. Our goal is to provide practical design recommendations for safe and stable structures and ensure our clients are as prepared for construction. We are seeking a Staff Engineer to join our Miami Team! Job Responsibilities: Perform all phases of geotechnical engineering investigations, analyses, and reportsProvide consulting during earthwork construction, as well as review change order requests, submittals, and requests for information during constructionProvide supervision and coordination with construction inspection staffPrepare proposals, statements of qualifications, scopes, and budget estimates for geotechnical studies and earthwork inspection projects.Set up and/or assist project- and staff-level geologists/engineers with laboratory testing programs for geotechnical projectsAssist with existing structure evaluations, including condition documentation, limited demolition, in-situ testing, and material samplingAssist in mentoring projects and staff-level geologist/engineersAssist in business development as well as attend company business development meetingsCoordinate with other design professionals, especially structural engineers, architects, civil engineers, and landscape planners, during the design and construction of projectsReview and stamp preliminary, design, and construction reportsReview project plans and specifications for conformance with geotechnical engineering recommendationsOther duties may be assignedQualifications:1-2 years of geotechnical engineering experience Engineering Intern (EI) requiredFlorida licensed Professional Engineer (PE) preferredWho We Are: UES provides essential engineering services for some of the most prominent and significant projects in the nation.
