Staff Engineer - Alignment Engineering Group Job ID 6271 Location SLAC - Menlo Park, CA Full-Time Regular **SLAC Job Postings** **Position Overview:** SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory is upgrading the soft X-ray free electron laser as part of the LCLS-II-HE Project. The Alignment Engineering Group at SLAC is responsible for aligning all the beamline components for LCLS-II-HE. Very high precision measurements are required to meet tolerances on component alignment. Applying the newest techniques and laser tracker instruments is required to make the electron beam trajectory straight and to allow the machine to operate with minimum beam loss.
