Staff Engineer - Configuration Management
Job Description

Hybrid: This means the successful candidate is expected to report to their primary location (Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday) three times per week, at minimum.

What You’ll do:

Launch and Operate a Configuration Management System

Lead the operational aspects of our emerging configuration management system. Define clear requirements to ensure cloud developers build a system that meets our complex needs, including, but not limited to:curating signals and managing metadataconfiguration management (with a focus on version control and lifecycle management)test and validation (with special focus on how permutations and combinations of configurations affect vehicle operation and data transmission)population management (grouping vehicles to ensure compatibility with configurations, permit A/B testing, etc.)campaign managementdeployment (including rings of exposure / promotion of configurations to "generally available")ObservabilityEvolve to operating the system and ensuring team members are up to speed on all of its capabilities.

Design, build, and maintain infrastructure and systems for data collection.

Manage data collection configurations in existing systems.Monitor, optimize, and modernize existing methods of data capture.Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.Develop new processes and methods for configuring in-vehicle data capture.

Ensure data quality and integrity.

Understand the signal in the vehicle, the purpose and use of the data, and ensure signal fitness for purpose.Develop, execute, and manage data validation tests.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

Bachelor’s degree in software, engineering or equivalent degree7+ years of relevant experience5+ years of experience with fleet/configuration management (what software, configurations, calibrations are deployed to each device).5+ years of experience with in-vehicle communication networks.Deep knowledge of CAN signals, vehicle networks, ARXML, signal test and validation.5+ years of experience with big data technologies (such as Azure).Strong programming skills, particularly in Python.Experience querying and manipulating data (SQL and python).Ability to tackle problems quickly and completely.Ability to identify tasks which require automation and automate them.A demonstrable understanding of networking/distributed computing environment concepts.Ability to multi-task and stay organized in a dynamic work environment.

MS or PhD in Computer Science/Engineering preferred

Compensation: The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The compensation may not be representative for positions located outside of the California Bay Area.

The salary range for this role is $178,000 to $232,000. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.

Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
