This role is based in our Personalized Solutions team in Cork where we work on bringing custom design to meet patient needs using additive technology.
What you will do:
The role is a Staff engineer role within our Industrialization Engineering team supporting the Personalized Solutions & Implant Solutions businesses.
The ideal candidate would have a background in systems, process and industrialization engineering with a focus on delivering value across the entire production process.
Process Mapping: Possess the ability to clearly map production process and system interactions. Establishes and maintains the definitive reference process that the business unit refers to when evaluating existing practices and when launching new products.
Systems: Has a strong background and understanding of systems (e.g MES, ERP etc). Works with key stakeholders in managing system complexity and defines, develops and delivers a holistic systems approach for the business unit. Evaluates multiple system options to select the and aide implementation of the optimal solution. Ensures that systems and processes work together seamlessly.
Value Stream Engineering: Systematically evaluates and improves manufacturing processes by analysing data, identifying inefficiencies, innovating and implementing solutions that enhance productivity, quality, and cost-effectiveness. Applies Lean Principles and Six Sigma Methodologies and can Re-engineer/ Re design process to deliver efficiencies.
Process Transformation: Ability to identify inefficiencies, design new workflows, integrate technology, and assist in the management of the overall change in the production system to deliver lead time, quality, and cost-effectiveness for NPI.
Continues Improvement: Must be able to drive operational excellence and efficiency in the business. Identifies areas for Improvement in current and NPI processes. Drives sustainable process optimisation. Tracks and measures improvements to validate the success of implemented changes.
End to End process Launch: In addition to supporting NPI, the engineer will support Process Owners across the End-to-End Process to deliver production readiness for audit and launch. Helping process owners to deliver a fully defined process with detailed process flows including roles, responsibilities, system interactions and tasks for each phase of production.
What you will need:
B.S in Mechanical Engineering or software related discipline with 4 or more years’ experience or related masters.
Completion of Green Belt Certification or Black belt is desirable.
Be able to express ideas and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams. Be open minded with the ability to recognise good ideas.
Innovative thinker - should be able to envisage new and better ways of doing things.
Process Mapping experience is desirable.
Experience in executing complex problem solving techniques related to manufacturing/design technical issues.
Excellent analytical skills, ability to plan, organise and implement concurrent tasks.
Good knowledge of manufacturing processes, material flow, product and process design.
Certified in software validation activities is desirable.
