Nuclear Weapons Effects Research Organization Qualifications: + Requires a MS or higher (preferably PhD) in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil), Physics, or similar – but not computer science / programming + Minimum of 1 years work experience – but this can be flexible if the candidate is otherwise highly qualified + Primarily programming in Java + Some experience with Java required + These team members typically grow to lead teams and present to customers, but they still have to be able to handle the day-to-day work of writing code + Ability to communicate is critical in this position + Preferred: + Someone with any knowledge of Fortran + Someone with any experience with developments tools like Git, Eclipse (or IntelliJ), Visual Studio, JIRA + Someone with any experience with compiling and developing for or on Linux OS + Most of the work can be done on Windows, but cannot escape eventually having to work with Linux + Desired: + Some C++ experience is desired but not required (but definitely desired) + Current active security clearance + Experience with related DoD software systems and models + Experience developing and deploying software to DoD IA requirements + Knowledge of nuclear weapons effects and scientific programming + They will have tasks that include data validation and verification, including creating reports; This may include visualization of data + So they need to be able to understand the effects being modeled and validated Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $140000.00 o Bonuses: 5% base, with potential for 10-15% if management incentives are met.o Vacation: 3 weeks, 9 holidays, 3 floating holidays, and 20 hours of volunteering time.
