Northrop Grumman Missions Systems is seeking an experienced RF Engineer in Receiver/Exciters, RF/Microwave design, and Hardware/Subsystem Integration and Test. The qualified candidate will work with a diverse and talented team of engineers developing innovative and cost-effective systems that support Electromagnetic Maneuver Warfare products as well as a broad range of other products and business areas across the lifecycle of a program.  Applicants should possess the ability to communicate effectively, clearly present technical approaches and findings, and mentor more junior engineers.

This position involves troubleshooting hardware in the lab. On-site presence in Baltimore/Linthicum, MD is required.

What you'll get to do:

Responsibilities may include development of receiver / exciter architectures and hardware board design, subsystem integration, troubleshooting, and performance testing, engineering test setup including acquiring and controlling test equipment, requirements generation/flow down; subsystem analysis including hardware from RF to digits, performance modeling, requirements verification, and more.  Work will be performed under consultative direction toward predetermined long-range goals and objectives.  Assignments are often self-initiated.

Basic Qualifications: 

​Must have a Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related discipline with 12 years of experience in the areas described in the job description or 10 years of experience with a Masters Degree and/or 8 years of experience with a Ph. D. An additional 4 years of experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.Established subject matter expertise in areas of RF/Microwave Hardware discipline and/or Receiver/Exciter (R/E) hardware, including but not limited to design, development, integration, test, and subsystem (R/E) integrationDemonstrated ability in technical and team leadership overseeing and mentoring engineers with experience at least at the Sr. Principal level.Effective verbal and written communication skillsActive Interim Secret or higher clearance.On-site in Linthicum, Maryland

In addition, this candidate should have demonstrated technical ability/leadership and expertise in one or more of the following areas:

Exhibit proficiency with industry standard RF/Microwave modeling, simulation and printed circuit board design tools (i.e. ANSYS HFSS, Keysight ADS, Xpedition)Highly integrated subsystems including receive/exciter hardwareRF Performance AnalysisSubsystem Control DesignExperience with Digital ControlsSubsystem requirements (hardware and software) derivation, flow-down, and configuration

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with High Intensity RF (HIRF) and Receiver ProtectionExperience creating test support applications and tools using MATLABExperience with Atlassian Tool Suite, GitFamiliarity with firmware development tool suites including Quartus and Vivado

Salary Range: $163,200.00 - $244,800.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
