Staff Engineer SRE (REMOTE)

Our Staff Engineer works with our Senior Staff Engineers and Senior Engineers to innovate and build new systems, improve, and enhance existing systems as well as identify new opportunities to apply your knowledge to solve critical problems. You are a lead member of the engineering staff working across the organization to ensure that we provide friction-less experience to our customers and maintain the highest standards of protection and availability. Our team thrives and succeeds in delivering high-quality technology products and services in a hyper-growth environment where priorities shift quickly. You will lead Strategy and Execution of a technical roadmap that will increase the velocity of delivering products and unlock new engineering capabilities.

Position Responsibilities

As a Staff Engineer, you will: Focus on multiple areas and provide technical and thought leadership to the enterprise Collaborate with product managers, team members, customers, and other engineering teams to solve our toughest problems Develop and execute technical software development strategy for the Platform Engineering domain accountable for the quality, usability, and performance of the solutions. Be a role model and mentor, helping to coach and strengthen the technical expertise and know-how of our engineering and product community. Influence and educate executives, consistently share best practices and improve processes within/across teams, analyze cost and forecast incorporating them into business plans. Determine and support resource requirements, evaluate operational processes, measure outcomes to ensure desired results, demonstrate adaptability, sponsor continuous learning, and willing to take on-call and operation support.

Qualifications

Lead the design, implementation and administration of middleware infrastructure including WebServers, Application Servers, Messaging on Apache Tomcat, Jboss, IBM MQ, AMQ, Apache Kafka, Dot-Net, API gateways, Kubernetes other complex engineering technologies on Linux, Windows OS.

Drive the implementation of DevOps practices, tools and automation to streamline the SDLC, deployment process and infrastructure management

Advanced experience of DevOps, Cloud concepts (Azure DevOps framework), knowledge with Enterprise Cloud platforms, Enterprise datacenter technologies including storage platforms, networks, security infrastructure

Strong automation hands on scripting skills with at least a couple or more programming languages Puppet, PowerShell, Linux Shell, Python, Ansible and with knowledge on Java, Dot-Net, SQL  

Experience with management of configurations, provisioning of infrastructure resources using infrastructure-as-code tools, techniques with Ansible Automation Platform, Puppet or similar

Ensure high availability and scalability of applications, infrastructure by implementing monitoring, alerting solutions with monitoring tools like Dynatrace, Splunk, Loki, Grafana or similar tools to detect and resolve issues

Advanced hands-on experience creating Grafana operational dashboards, data visualization using Grafana is required

Strong expertise with DevOps KPIs, configurable monitoring dashboards to monitor trends, metrics, progress, workflow

Ability to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, conduct capacity planning and implement performance testing, optimization strategies

As a Staff engineer you would have to drive initiatives to improve system stability, reliability by implementing SRE principles, incident response, post-mortem, disaster recovery, chaos engineering.

Ensure security compliance of middleware systems by implementing best practices, accessing vulnerability as recommended by Cybersecurity team and understanding of security protocols

Collaborate with all the IT teams including but not limited to developers, system & network admins, dbas, infrastructure/operational, security teams for continuous support and improvement

Experience in project management working across with IT teams on project requirements, set goals and ensure their successful executions

Working experience with agile teams following Scrum and/or Kanban methodology

Provide technical leadership, mentorship, coaching to the IT teams promoting professional knowledge sharing.

Experience on strong problem solving, analytical skills to triage complex technical issues

Experience with software tools - Microsoft ADO, Sharepoint, PowerBI, Helix, Confluence or similar

Provide 24/7 operations support for production, other critical environments, DevOps multi-tasking and with clear communication skills.

Establish and employ continuous integration practices and tools.

Experience

6+ years of professional experience in software development, platform architecture, administration, governance, infrastructure management, installation, and maintenance of the hardware, software, and network systems

4+ years of experience in open-source frameworks

3+ years of experience with architecture and design

3+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or hybrid data center

1+ years of people management experience

Education

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experience

Annual Salary

$100,000.00 - $261,500.00

The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
