One of our most challenging new fields is Microelectronics Design and Applications (MDA), which combines the unique properties of superconductivity and quantum mechanics to develop radical new energy-efficient computing systems. MDA is seeking a Staff Systems Engineer with demonstrated ability to lead systems engineers in the development of new technologies to support our innovative MDA team in support of emerging supercomputing technologies.
What You’ll Get to Do:
Work closely with ASIC, FPGA, digital, and analog hardware engineers utilizing your knowledge of systems engineering methods, tools and techniquesFollow product development from design through board level manufacturing and test.Ability to operate in a team environment and collaborate across multi‐functional teams to develop innovative solutionsEnsure system technical compliance with the program Statement of Work (SOW) and system requirements.Manage the vertical and horizontal technical integration throughout the product teams and program life cycle.Collect, manage, and report the program metrics and Technical Performance Measures (TPMs).Manage risk and opportunity and the production of core engineering work products and track the work products and associated program dependencies in the program schedule.Coordinate between the System Architect, Chief Engineer, Product Team Lead(s), program manager, and customer to ensure the integrity and executability of the program technical baseline.

This position will serve on-site in Linthicum / Annapolis Junction, MD.
Basic Qualifications for Staff Systems Engineer:
Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 12 years of experience, a Master's degree in a STEM discipline with 10 years of experience or a PhD in a STEM discipline with 7 years of experience.Experience facilitating internal and customer collaboration to capture and enhance engineering artifacts.Knowledge of Circuit Card Assembly product life cycle.Demonstrated experience with the full product life cycle (requirements, design, implementation, and test)Demonstrated Requirements Management from Elicitation to Verification.Demonstrated Backlog Planning and Management.Risk and Opportunity Management experience.Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI with poly clearance per business requirements.This position requires the applicant to be a U.S. citizen.Preferred Qualifications for Staff Systems Engineer:
Advanced Degrees in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical fieldsDemonstrated experience and knowledge in design, development, creation, and modification of digital logic designs implemented in FPGA, or ASIC solutions.Demonstrated experience and knowledge in simulation and verification of Digital Logic designs, requirements, and supporting validation at the system level.Experience with ASIC Specification generation and verification.Multi-Disciplinary Engineering exposure (Software, Hardware, Electrical) and strong ability to communicate cross functionally.Experience leading technical teams.Demonstrated Model Based Systems Engineering (SysML).Experience with Earned Value ManagementKnowledge of Systems Engineering processing from generation of an Integrated Master Plan (IMP) to Work Product Breakdown into Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) for the development of complex systems of systems.#MDASEIT

Salary Range: $163,200.00 - $256,400.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
