Job Description

NBCUniversal has an exciting opportunity for a talented individual to become a Staff Engineering Project Manager with a specific focus on supporting our Enterprise Technology division. Enterprise Technology supports corporate technology, broadcast, and production systems globally across the NBCU portfolio. This role will work on large complex software projects affecting large parts of our organization.

The Staff Engineering Project Manager will be responsible for the successful execution of software, cloud, and infrastructure engineering projects while meeting performance, quality, and scheduling goals. The project manager will be expected to plan and execute in a hybrid waterfall and agile environment. This position requires strong communication, influencing, and negotiation skills. Must have a strong technical foundation and ability to quickly develop a deep understanding of the strategic objectives.

Responsibilities:    

Lead and manage multiple programs and large projectsDevelop and maintain project scope, schedule, and budgetsManage and update detailed project plans, roadmaps, and trackers to monitor and track progressCommunicate project expectations, risks, and escalations effectively and timely across all levels of the organizationManage project resource capacity, identify overallocated resources, and build mitigation strategiesPlan and maintain strong mitigation strategies against possible risks and issuesLead cross-functional teams toward shared goals against tight timelinesCommunicate weekly and monthly project statusProvide input towards constantly improving processes with the intention of efficiency and automation

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

B.S./B.A. degree in relevant field or equivalent work experience10+ years’ experience leading complex software or infrastructure projectsExperience with project management tools such as Jira, ServiceNow, and SmartsheetExcellent organization and communication skills, as well as strong and consistent attention to detailExperience with cloud infrastructure and account migrationsFoundational understanding of software and infrastructure engineering technologiesStrong leadership skills with the proven ability to coordinate and influence team members from global teams with diverse backgrounds, business objectives, and time zone constraintsAdaptable performer who can lead effectively under pressure and through significant changeAbility and desire to continually learn about new technologies, project management methodologies, and adapt to ever-changing business and industry needs

Desired Characteristics:

Fully Remote: This position has been designated as fully remote, meaning that the position is expected to contribute from a non-NBCUniversal worksite, most commonly an employee’s residence.

This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
