Job Description

We are hiring a Staff Engineer in our Minneapolis, MN location. As a Staff Engineer, roles may include on-site investigation work at contaminated soil, groundwater, sediment and soil vapor project sites, field oversight and documentation, sample collection, data logging, remedial design, technical document preparation and reporting.

Responsibilities

Perform Environmental Site Assessments and building material samplingConduct screening of soil and groundwater for various environmental contaminantsOversee remedial projects to ensure compliance with plans and specifications and coordinate monitoring and testing servicesDocument test results and reviews test data for accuracy and completenessAssist with data collection and report preparationAssist with remedial system design, engineering calculations, plans and specifications and construction cost estimatesWork with project manager and client to ensure that project objectives are metTravels to local and regional project sites (up to 30% travel and 75% field work expected, based on project needs)Assist senior staff with various environmental regulatory matters for clientsAssist regional environmental staff as needed with group workload

Skills

Data analysis, proficient in Microsoft platform applicationsWritten and verbal communication skillsAttention to detailDemonstrate strong problem solving and critical thinking skills

Education/Experience

Bachelor's degree in civil, chemical, environmental, or geological engineering, or related engineering degree.0 to 3 years of relevant experience.Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certificate, or ability to obtain within one year preferredOSHA HAZWOPER training preferredExperience with field data collection, investigation, and remediation oversight preferredMust frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.
