Within this department in Beerse (Belgium) we are looking for a Staff Expert Chemical Compliance RD.

As Sr Expert Chemical Compliance, you will support and advise RnD Belgium in implementation of chemical compliance strategy, and you are continuously improving these programs to prevent severe injuries or undesired health effects caused by activities at the lab-workplace. In your job you work with many functions and levels of the RnD organization.
Major responsibilities
You are responsible for developing and maintaining EHS standards and programs in our Belgium Campus related to Chemical Compliance. You advise on Chemical and Biological Safety and answer questions about chemicals (Dangerous Goods, REACH, CMR, SVHC, SDS’s, CLP notifications, …) in collaboration with RnD labs, chemical warehouses and Global Product Stewardship team.You participate as expert in risk assessments.You further expand Chemical safety expertise together with Scientific departments and global EHS as team member or project lead.You represent EHS on the shop floor to support incident investigations, input for management of change, advice on Chemical and Biological topics. You assist or lead internal and external audits and government inspections.You provide trainings for employees on exposure to chemicals, risks of chemical substances and use of Personal Protective Equipment. You perform focus audits or program reviews on chemical compliance.You are the local EHS point of contact for introducing new chemical substances within RnD Belgium.You are part of a dynamic team of RnD EHS experts with a focus on controlling all chemical, physical, biological and occupational hazards as part of the bigger EHS team.You are acting as back-up for head of internal physical control (ionizing non-ionizing radiation)You participate in an on-call system in the context of internal emergency planning at the Beerse site.You support compliance with and create reports for regulated substances legislation in Belgium.At Johnson Johnson, we believe health is everything.
