Job Description
Support a large railway project in Albany by participating in or leading field assignments, including observation of geotechnical construction. You will be responsible for construction observation and special inspections, effectively communicating with contractors, clients, and team members. Weekend and overtime work may be required, with limited overnight and interstate travel.
ResponsibilitiesParticipate or lead field assignments including observation of geotechnical construction.Conduct construction observation and special inspections.Communicate effectively and efficiently with contractors, clients, and team members.Collect and analyze soil samples.Prepare construction observation documents.Essential Skills1-2 years of experience in Geotechnical Engineering or Geology (entry-level and similar degrees such as Environmental Science or Civil will be considered).EIT or GIT certification.Experience with soil classification and preparation of construction observation documents.Proficiency in MS Platforms (Office, Excel, Teams, etc.).Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record.Consistent means of transportation to/from project sites.Ability to pass a drug test.Additional Skills & QualificationsPE license.Proficiency in AutoCAD.Work Environment
This position involves 12-hour shifts from 6am to 6pm and is expected to last for a 6-month project duration. The work environment includes a family feel in the office within a leading and fast-growing national Architecture and Engineering firm. You will have the opportunity to work on a large, high-profile project.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $32.00
