Job Title: Staff Hardware Engineer
Job Description

We are looking for a Technical Lead/Staff Engineer to lead the design and development of space electronics. This person will be responsible for working with different engineering principles and the customer to ensure accurate delivery of the products.Responsibilities: • Maintain a high degree of technical situational awareness in the subject matter area regarding the application of existing and emerging technologies as related to customer needs and expectations; competitors’ intentions, strengths and weaknesses; company technical and business competencies; and company's public image• Serve as one of the principal technical representatives to customers; responsible for end-to-end closure in liaison with program management• Manage technical baseline for major programs and direct technical execution of development and test activities• Lead preparation and presentation of major milestone reviews• Support Business Area Executives across the spectrum of business development activities and collaborate as needed on production of technical proposals• Support Technical Director relative to master product roadmap across cognizant product/technology areas• Advise engineering and executive management on technical alternatives in support of strategic planning• Provide input to disciplined Basis-of-Estimation process for costing activities• Plan, direct and technically manage architectural design of one or more major programs within the organization• Actively contribute to developing the overall technology strategy and goals for projects and programs• Lead technical discussions with customer teams to further develop project/program concepts

This is a permanent position.

This is a hybrid position requiring some days on-site in Fairfax, Virginia and some days remote.
