Staff Mechanical Engineer - Mission Critical (Columbus)

Mission Critical is an international practice for Burns & McDonnell involving exciting, collaborative work across many departments. Position available for a mechanical engineer with experience in a variety of facility mechanical system and subsystems including: studies, layout, specification and design of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, utilities, infrastructure, and controls. Position will focus on the design of large scale facilities. Additional duties include: * May develop and evaluate plans for major projects. * May assess feasibility or soundness of proposed applications when data is insufficient or testing is advisable. * Develop flow diagrams, P&IDs, and sequences of operation as required. * May coordinate departmental or divisional project studies, reports or project design assignments. * Progressive design responsibilities. * Provide leadership, guidance and instruction to less experienced staff members. * Regularly meets and corresponds with clients or outside personnel. * Other duties as assigned. **Qualifications** + Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from accredited program. + Minimum 3 years related experience (completion of master's degree in related field may be substituted for one year of experience). + Mission Critical facility design experience is preferred. + Knowledge and experience with ASHRAE standards, IPC, IMC, and IECC codes. + Excellent written & verbal communication skills. + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. + Previous consulting experience preferred. + Experience with energy and HVAC load calculation software a plus. + Completion of Fundamentals of Engineering Exam strongly preferred.This job posting will remain open a minimum of 72 hours and on an ongoing basis until filledEEO/Minorities/Females/Disabled/Veterans **Job** Mechanical Engineering **Primary Location** US-OH-Columbus **Schedule:** Full-time **Travel:** Yes, 15 % of the Time **Req ID:** 235539 **Job Hire Type** Experienced #LI-EH #GFS
