The Burns McDonnell Denver, CO office is seeking to hire a Staff Mechanical Engineer for the Energy Global Practice

The Staff Mechanical Engineer will work on project teams to create world-class designs for power generation projects at a variety of traditional or renewable power generation facilities. The Staff Mechanical Engineer will work with the project team throughout the design and construction process, adapting mechanical plans according to budget constraints, design factors or client needs.

Perform mechanical design of projects from the conceptual phase through design completion.Modify and review production drawings for a variety of power projects.Design mechanical components for project needs and requirements that are set forth by the project managers.Write technical specifications for equipment and material procurement or installation during construction.Applies strong knowledge of commonly used mechanical engineering/design concepts, principles, practices, codes, and procedures within the mechanical engineering services industry.Research and compile project-related data as required by the project managers.Compiles information for client presentations, shop drawing review, and contract administration for the design of traditional or renewable power generation facilities.Communicates with other disciplines’ (electrical, controls, structural, civil) engineers for efficient project coordination.Performs field inspections, measurements, or calculations for public and private clients.Field engineering support during construction and startup of power generation plants.All other duties as assigned.
