Staff Nurse (casual) - Hyperbaric
_*SUMMARY:*_ We are currently seeking a casual*Staff Nurse*for the Hyperbaric Chamber team. *Note: If you are currently in a benefit earning position and apply for this casual position you will be decreasing your current hours to casual with no benefits. *  /CASUAL NURSE: Casual nurses are nurses who have no regular appointed scheduled hours (no assigned FTE). Nurses may not have a casual position and a regularly scheduled position within the same facility. Casual nurses must make themselves available to work a minimum of two (2) open 8-hour minimum length or the equivalent number of hours per four (4)-week scheduling period at straight time, a minimum of one shift must be a weekend shift. Casual nurses must also make themselves available to work two (2) of the following holiday shifts per calendar year: New Year's Day, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day. Holiday shifts must be full eight or twelve hour shifts. A minimum of one of the holidays must be a winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Year's)./ _*RESPONSIBILITIES:*_ Within the context of the Hennepin Healthcare System Patient and Family Centered Care model, and under general supervision, the registered nurse provides and coordinates nursing care by: * Protecting, promoting, and optimizing health * Preventing illness and injury * Alleviating suffering through the treatment of the human response * Partnering with the patient, their family and significant others * Documenting interventions and an individualized plan of care *_QUALIFICATIONS:_* Minimum Qualifications: · Two (2) years of current critical care (ICU) or emergency department professional nursing (RN) experience** · Experience with pediatric patients** · *ACLS and PALS Certification required *** · Ability to work in a pressurized environment required (Employee Occupational Health clearance required)** * Possession of a valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the State of Minnesota Preferred Qualifications: * Recent hyperbaric medicine experience in a multi-chamber environment * Experience in Procedures and Sedation * · CHRN-certified though National Board of Diving and Hyperbaric Medical Technology or able to complete the program within two years of hire date** * BSN Preferred. Bachelor of Nursing degree is strongly encouraged.
