Staff Nurse - EP Lab

The EP staff are responsible for providing patient care to patients who are undergoing an invasive procedure in the Cardiac Cath Lab or EP Lab area. This person is responsible for assisting the physician at the table or monitoring the patient's condition in the control room area during these procedures and must be knowledgeable in all equipment and supplies that are used in these circumstances. It is the responsibility of the EP staff to keep the physician apprised of the patient's condition during the procedure and for communicating and documenting the technical aspects of the procedure, such as hemodynamic responses, EKG rhythm, and response during all levels of care.  Staff must be knowledgeable in acquisition and storage of images and is responsible for the operation of x-ray equipment and for radiation safety. In addition, the staff are knowledgeable in a variety of specialty equipment and is capable of working directly with the physician to provide this technology during a case. The staff contributes to the excellent care by utilizing the mission, vision and building blocks to guide them. They recognize themselves as an important part of a team. 

Qualifications: Requires RN with SC license.  Must maintain Basic Life Support (BLS). RNs must maintain Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). One year EP Lab experience preferred. ADN candidates must be enrolled in a BSN program within 18 months from date of hire and are required to obtain BSN within four (4) years of date of hire. For current AnMed Health Associate Degree Nurses (ADN) who were hired as RNs prior to January 1, 2013, and already working as an acute care Staff Nurse as of that date, the requirement to obtain BSN within four (4) years will be waived.
