Staff Packaging Design Engineer (Plastics/PET & HDPE)The Staff Design Engineer role is responsible for independently managing the coordination of designing new and existing products. This position is responsible for being the technical resource for major commercialization activities while providing technical experience for new and existing product related issues. This position collaborates with different internal departments for prototyping, testing procedures, manufacturing capabilities/ specifications, and CAPEX creation.The Staff Design Engineer utilizes various CAD and alternate software to execute development of new products including but not limited to closures, preforms and bottle design. In addition to 2D drawings, 3D drawings and renderings, the Staff Design Engineer will also utilize simulation modeling to validate designs. This position will provide training, leadership, and mentorship to less experienced staff and / or direct reports. Lastly, this job is responsible for supporting other departments with design needs as necessary and supporting the plants on an as need basis.
Essential Functions
