Role Summary You will play a pivotal role in supporting the production launch process, blending expertise in engineering and manufacturing. You will work alongside cross-functional teams to establish robust manufacturing specifications, optimize manufacturing process development, and ensure seamless scaling of production. Your contributions will directly impact the performance and quality of Rivian VW Technology group’s cutting-edge electronic modules, ensuring successful launches from Low-Rate Initial Production (LRIP) to high-volume manufacturing at our contract manufacturing partner locations. Responsibilities Establish production testing specifications for feasibility and scalability. Define and drive the industrialization of ECU manufacturing processes. Support program budget activities, reviewing tooling, equipment expenditures with contract manufacturers. Work with main stake holders in the completion of PFMEA, PPAP; and optimize manufacturing processes for volume manufacturing. Proactively Identify high risk areas in production and engineering design cycle. Work with contract manufacturers and internal stake holders to perform DFx analysis and optimize at all levels. Identify, root cause, and track issues, working closely with Design Engineers to implement necessary design changes during production and vehicle launch. Manage the manufacturing of our Electronic modules through from Prototype builds to Series production with QT houses and contract manufacturers ensuring the capacity and quality goals. Qualifications 5+ years experience in manufacturing engineering for electronic modules. 5+ years experience in Engineering design change and change control. Strong background in the development, implementation, and sustainment of manufacturing procedures for high-volume production environments. Strong knowledge on solderability specifications and IPC standards. Experience with production capacity analysis (e.g., installed vs. planned capacity, OEE). Expertise in failure analysis of electronic modules and identifying root causes of failure in complex systems. Skills & Competencies: Forward-thinking, with the ability to propose and evaluate new or improved manufacturing methods. Strong leadership capabilities to drive and sustain supplier manufacturing manufacturing processes to the highest standards. Ability to manage ambiguity, oversee multiple projects simultaneously, and create clarity in complex situations. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate with cross- functional teams and external partners. Strong attention to detail and a passion for exceeding expectations and meeting deadlines. Proficient in working with hardware, electrical, and software engineers to optimize PCBA (Printed Circuit Board Assembly) manufacturing. Solid understanding of technical documentation, including data sheets, schematics, gerber files and system specifications. Proficient in using data analysis tools such as *.CSV and *.TXT files for performance tracking and issue resolution. Strong documentation practices for tracking issues, changes, and test results. Experience in high-rate production environments, especially working with Contract Manufacturers (CMs) on PCBA production. Deep understanding of the automotive PPAP process and its application in production.
