Position: Staff Product Manager
Job Location: 640 W. California Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94086
Duties: Utilize data, analytics, and Voice of Customer surveys to create returns product solutions for Walmart’s customers while incorporating requirements from internal stakeholders. Identify key risks and dependencies, and work with the requisite teams to put solutions in place that will achieve program outcomes. Communicate across multiple domains and dive deep into details to craft solutions. The engagement for this role spans across various teams, including product management, engineering, strategy, supply chain, retail merchandising, marketing, customer and store operations, and analytics. Lead product management for returns initiatives. Coordinate across Walmart.com, Walmart Stores, Walmart Subsidiaries, and Walmart Marketplace Sellers to create, implement, and manage product solutions for a world-class returns experience. Participate in building product strategies. Execute the strategies by building roadmaps and visions and defining requirements that meet the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Deploy analytical methods, tools, and resources to identify areas of opportunity for Walmart.com customer returns, including opportunities for cost savings and ways to improve customer experience. Drive transformational initiatives to achieve major financial goals and KPIs. Manage applicable system solutions for returns and ensure end-to-end ownership of solutions by working with relevant cross-functional groups. Communicate project benefits and champion returns product designs and experiences throughout the organization. Partner with product and engineering teams in retail and stores to incorporate feedback into product development and improvement. Develop thought leadership and help build a world-class returns experience. This position does not supervise employees.
Minimum education and experience required: Master’s degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering (any), or related area and 5 years of experience in product management or related field; OR Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering (any), or related area and 7 years of experience in product management or related field.
Skills required: Experience recommending technical features using the following research methodologies: Customer Interviews, Case Study Research, Surveys, and A/B Testing. Experience developing flow diagrams and mock-ups using Sketch and Lucid Charts. Experience configuring Scrum Boards, writing detailed user stories with acceptance criteria, creating reports to track Scrum team activities, and creating project snapshots for management using Jira. Experience collaborating with leadership to prioritize software product delivery by leveraging statistical analysis and prioritization techniques. Experience designing and implementing software platforms, software architecture (microservices, MVC, layered), software patterns (factory, publish-subscribe), REST APIs, and data science models (natural language processing, cluster analysis, logistical regression). Experience developing technical features and planning feature releases using Scrum and Agile methodologies as part of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). Experience driving requirements and assessing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) utilizing data. Experience measuring the impact of technical features by analyzing data using SQL, Teradata, and Microsoft (MS) Excel. Experience creating product visions and project plans, conducting impact analysis, and generating data and product strategies to launch and monitor the success of a project. Experience testing functional flows, user interfaces, APIs, and relational databases, including Azure, using tools Postman, indexing, and caching services. Experience with Software Product Management. Experience creating presentations to pitch new initiatives, showcase proposals, and present the benefits and Returns on Investment (ROI) of initiatives. Salary Range: $294,299/year to $294,299/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location) and Stock equity incentives.
