The Staff Product Manager, Machine Learning is responsible for driving CNN's search, personalization, and recommendations initiatives in partnership with product experience teams. High levels of user engagement and satisfaction are the hallmarks of a delightful product experience, and you are passionate about making this happen for users who come to CNN. You think in the domains of machine learning and AI and are equally comfortable with design thinking to tie the best user experience and ML models together. You are adept at understanding the technical aspects of recommendation systems including understanding API contracts and writing SQL queries to dive into the data. You enjoy collaborating with other product managers, data scientists, researchers, engineering, designers, and editorial teams to deliver the best personalized experience that balance user needs and business goals.


Your Role Accountabilities…
• Drive CNN digital's personalization, search, and recommendations initiatives across multiple platforms (apps, web, and TV) with multiple content types (articles, videos, products, etc.)


• Partner with cross-functional teams in engagement, growth, commerce, and editorial of product managers, designers, researchers, data scientists, engineers, and editors to integrate machine learning models and personalization features across various product portfolios


• Devise, monitor, and analyze key performance metrics and use data-driven insights to expand personalization reach and increase quality of recommendations to consistently drive user signups and engagement metrics month after month


• Conduct quantitative and qualitative research in collaboration with data scientists and researchers to inform personalization and recommendations strategies, validate hypotheses, identify user needs, and drive continuous improvement.


• Lead the machine learning platform and data science product strategy, define key metrics, roadmap and quarterly OKRs in partnership with ML engineering and science teams


• Communicate product updates, progress, and results to stakeholders at all levels, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.


• Ensure that all personalization initiatives comply with privacy regulations and adhere to industry best practices.

Qualifications & Experience…

• At least 7 years of product management experience, ideally with consumer facing product experience with Machine Learning and AI components


• Proven track record of managing and delivering complex product initiatives in working with a full stack team


• Strong understanding of personalization techniques, recommendation engines, and AI/machine learning applications, with a passion for algorithms and their potential in driving user engagement


• Experience in designing, implementing, and running online experimentations


• Comfortable writing SQL queries and have experience working with data scientists and data analysts to define and measure KPIs


• Strong presentation and communication skills in delivering strategies to cross-functional leadership teams and gaining support

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery’s total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $114,100.00 - $211,900.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
