Occupational Category Professional Department Dept of Psychology and Philosophy Division Division of Academic Affairs Open Date 02/07/2024 Open Until Filled Yes Educational and Experience Requirement Doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology and license eligible as a Psychologist in Texas are required. Minimum of three years experience in psychotherapy, crisis intervention, psychological services, and/or psychological assessment. Will consider practicum, internship, and postdoctoral internship as eligible experience. Eligible to conduct forensic assessments or willing to complete relevant and sufficient training to acquire eligibility to conduct forensic assessments. Nature & Purpose of Position To provide supervision of doctoral students and psychological services to the community. Primary Responsibilities Typical areas of responsibility include supervision of assessment with both children and adults. Assessments most commonly include personality, psychodiagnostics, intelligence, and achievement, as well as forensic assessment conducted in conjunction with local legal jurisdictions. The individual would supervise psychotherapy with children, adults, couples, and families. Typical duties may include, but are not necessarily limited to: direct supervision, consultation, treatment planning. Performs other related duties as assigned. Other Specifications Possess strong skills in the areas of psychotherapy, crisis intervention, and supervision. Strong assessment experience preferred. Familiarity with the Specialty Guidelines for Forensic Psychologists and a commitment to practicing according to those guidelines. Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and the ability to develop, implement, and evaluate effective treatment plans. Have an ability to work with a diverse population.
