Staff Reliability Engineer
**Job Title: Staff Reliability Engineer** **Location: Wilmington, DE** Provides Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) support and leadership to the Engineering & Maintenance Department. This will include ownership and gap assessments of the site’s existing programs and leadership to drive new initiatives that will maximize plant asset availability and reduce or eliminate unplanned downtime. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Staff Reliability Engineer • Strengthen the existing site RCM program with high focus on a disciplined approach to execute core fundamentals of RCM; asset criticality assessments → FMEAs → Critical Spare Parts. • Leverage prior experience to drive changes to the existing RCM program based on current industry benchmarks. • Lead the site condition monitoring and predictive maintenance program to drive increased failure detectability and increase planned vs. unplanned maintenance KPIs. • Identify equipment downtime trends and proactively implement continuous improvement projects to increase overall equipment effectiveness. • Develop processes, policies, and procedures for plant engineering new equipment installation and qualification utilizing built-in RCM fundamentals. • Analyze CMMS data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement using standard KPI dashboards. • Review existing/develop new PM frequencies and job plans based on sound engineering practice using all available data and/or industry best practices. • Facilitate and perform training activities on RCM related subjects to target groups (Operations, Maintenance, Project Engineering, Process Engineering, etc.). • Develop and maintain the site’s five-year asset replacement road map and make recommendations on critical equipment projects for annual capital budget. • Reviews and approves recommendations for modifications to enhance equipment life or productivity. Prepares and consolidates reports on equipment reliability, repairs, etc. Reviews and finalizes plans for equipment replacement with key stakeholders. QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with at least 12 years working experience in a reliability role, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience preferred. • Proven experience implementing program level and step-change reliability projects preferred. • Experience in a highly regulated Chemical, Pharmaceutical, Petrochemical, Energy, or Biopharmaceutical industry preferred. • Professional Engineering license is a plus. • Experience with CMMS software applications required (Maximo, SAP PM, etc.) LANGUAGE SKILLS • Read, analyze, and interpret complex scientific and technical journals, and legal documents. • Respond to sensitive inquiries or complaints from top managers, customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. • Effectively present information and gain top management’s approval for critical projects.
