Job Description:

Alation is seeking an experienced Salesforce Applications Senior Developer with a strong focus on Service Cloud, deep expertise across all Salesforce development components, and knowledge of FEDRAMP compliance requirements. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in designing, developing, and implementing scalable Salesforce solutions to enhance our customer service operations. This position requires a hands-on professional with exceptional problem-solving skills, technical expertise, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

What You'll Do:

Salesforce Development

Design and implement custom Salesforce solutions using Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and other Salesforce technologies.

Develop and maintain Service Cloud components, including Case Management, Knowledge Base, Service Console, and Omni-Channel.

Build and optimize flows, process builders, triggers, and validation rules to streamline workflows.

Service Cloud Expertise

Customize and configure Service Cloud features to meet business needs, including Live Agent, Field Service, and AI-powered Einstein Bots.

Design and implement solutions to enhance customer support capabilities, including SLA tracking, automated case routing, and escalation management.

Configure and customize Omni-Channel settings, including work item queues, routing rules, and presence configurations.

Integration and API Management

Integrate Salesforce with third-party systems using REST, SOAP APIs, and middleware tools like Workato, Netsuite, Zoominfo, and Snowflake.

Develop custom APIs and maintain data synchronization between Salesforce and external applications.

Salesforce Configuration

Set up and manage user roles, permissions, and profiles to ensure data security and compliance.

Responsible for any configuration and setup for FEDRAMP compliance projects.

Solution Design and Architecture

Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

Create detailed technical documentation, including system architecture, data models, and process diagrams.

Ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with Salesforce best practices.

Mentorship and Leadership

Provide guidance and mentorship to junior developers and admins.

Participate in code reviews to ensure quality and adherence to standards.

Continuous Improvement

Stay updated on Salesforce releases and features, particularly those related to Service Cloud.

Identify opportunities to enhance Salesforce functionality and implement innovative solutions.

You should have:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

10+ years of hands-on Salesforce development experience, with a strong focus on Service Cloud and Sales Cloud, will be a plus.

Proficient in Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and JavaScript.

Expertise in Service Cloud components, including Case Management, Service Console, and Knowledge Base.

Strong knowledge of Salesforce declarative tools (Flows, Process Builder, Validation Rules).

Experience with Salesforce integrations using REST, SOAP, and middleware tools like Workato, and NetSuite.

Knowledge of Salesforce data modeling, security model, and sharing rules.

Salesforce Service Cloud Consultant (preferred).

Salesforce Platform Developer I (required)

Platform Developer II (preferred).

Additional Salesforce certifications are a plus (e.g., Salesforce Application Architect).

Compensation Pay Range:

$148,148.00 - $200,000.00

Salary Information

The base salary range is specific to the United States.  The salary of the final candidate selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to internal equity, experience, education, work location, specialty and training.  If the final candidate has a different level of experience, the base salary target range may be lower or higher than what is published.
