**About the Role**
The Membership team is responsible for developing and reinventing the UberEats and Uber app to be a member-first experience from price to perks. We drive one of the strongest incremental programs at Uber and innovate/iterate fast! You will collaborate across teams, including UberEats, Rides, FinTech, etc.
**What You Will Do**
- Develop data-driven business insights and work with cross-functional customers to find opportunities and recommend prioritization of product, growth, and optimization initiatives
- Build statistical, optimization, and machine learning models for strategic insights as well as in production enhancements to the membership program
- Design and analyze experiments, present results that provide actionable recommendations.
- Orient our teams around data-driven product development by driving the creation of logging, metrics, data visualization and diagnostic tools, and experimentation paradigms.
- Define how our teams measure success, by developing metrics, in close partnership with cross functional partners.
\-\-\-\- Basic Qualifications ----
- B.S or M.S. in Math, Economics, Bioinformatics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, or other quantitative field
- 7+ years of industry experience as an Applied or Data Scientist or equivalent.
- Experience in developing causal inference methodologies and experimental design (e.g., A/B and market-level experiments)
- Proficiency in SQL and programming languages (Python and/or R)
- Strong communication skills across technical, non-technical, and executive audiences
- Strong business and product sense: ability to shape vague questions into well-defined analyses and success metrics that drive business decisions
\-\-\-\- Preferred Qualifications ----
- Ph.D., M.S. or Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Machine Learning, Operations Research, or other quantitative fields.
- Experience in building consumer-facing products in a technology company.
- Advanced analytics skills such as causal inference and non-standard A/B testing techniques
- Experience managing projects across large, ambiguous scopes and driving initiatives in a fast moving, cross-functional environment
- Experience with dashboard/data visualization toolings
For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$203,000 per year - USD$225,500 per year.
