Summary The Environmental Scientist is a key role, responsible for conducting research, assessments, and implementing strategies to conserve the environment and promote sustainability. The role is responsible for data analysis, reporting, stakeholder engagement and project management.

This role will be based on the selected job posting locationEssential Duties and Responsibilities:Conducing environmental research and studies to assess natural resources, ecosystems, and pollution levels.Performing fieldwork, collect samples and gather data using various methods and equipmentAnalyzing environmental data, including air, and water quality, soul composition, and biodiversityInterpreting findings to evaluate environmental impacts and identify potential risksPreparing detailed reports documenting research findings, data analysis, and recommendationsCollaborating with organizations, government agencies and communities to promote eco-friendly practicesEngaging stakeholders in environmental planning, decision-making, and public outreachProvide education and training on environmental issues, regulations, and best practicesEnsuring compliance with environmental regulations, permits, and standardsAssisting in obtaining environmental permits and approvals for projectsManaging environmental projects, including groundwater monitoring and Phase I & II Environmental Site AssessmentCreating and updating proposals for various project, ensuring project budgets and schedules are metAnalyzing reports, maps, drawings and other data to plan and design projects effectivelyPreparing cost estimates, proposals, and invoices and track project deliverables to meet quality standards and client expectationsOther duties may be assignedRequired Qualifications:Valid Florida Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record (in accordance with our Driver’s License and Motor Vehicle Record Check Criteria), may or may not be required to perform the duties and responsibilities of the roleAbility to pass a background check screening in accordance with Florida’s Jessica Lunsford Act (or equivalent state classification)AHERA Inspector license Highly organized and able to multitaskSelf-driven and dynamic in a team environmentGood verbal and written communication skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office and project management softwareAbility to read and write, including interpreting documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, as well as writing routine reports and correspondence and speaking effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and customers/clientsComputer skills sufficient to operate a laptop, including sending and receiving emails, and the ability to learn Field Data Collection (FDC)/Inspector Gadget to input data and prepare reportsMathematical skills sufficient to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimalsReasoning ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram formPreferred Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Ecology or related field (Master’s degree preferred)Previous experience in environmental research, assessments, and project managementPrevious experience in an A/E/C firmProficiency in data analysis, GIS Software and technical report writingStrong communication, stakeholder engagement and collaboration skillsAbility to solve problems, manage multiple projects and meet deadlinesKnowledge of environmental regulations, best practices and safety proceduresWho We Are:   UES provides essential engineering services for some of the most prominent and significant projects in the nation.
