What you’ll do day-to-day:As the Tech Lead of Crypto Trading, you will act as a technical leader, systems architect, problem solver, coder and liaison to all engineering/product groups.
Crypto Tech Lead will be responsible for:Creating and driving the area’s technical strategy and roadmap based on broad and deep understanding of the crypto domain and horizontal platformsSetting technical standards and making strategic technology choicesProviding technical leadership via design reviews, project execution, and owning outcomes for the organizationUp-leveling the overall crypto product architecture and designsPartnering with product to define the vision of crypto trading productsGoing deep into technical areas with a hands-on approach to root-cause tough issuesContinuously improving the reliability and scalability of all services while holding the highest security standardsAdvancing the operational excellence, efficiency, and sustainability of all production servicesMentoring senior and junior engineers and up-leveling the engineering organizationMaking hard tradeoffs between taking on or paying down technical debt while maintaining forward progress on new products and featuresCollaborating with other tech leaders across the company to ensure that Robinhood’s overall technical direction is coherent, effective, and efficientRecruiting Staff+ engineers for Robinhood.About you:10+ years of software engineering experience3+ years technically leading large engineering organizations with multiple teamsStrong technical judgment and expertise with a focus on reliability, scalability, and correctnessExceptional communication, leadership, and influence skillsStrong partnership and cross-functional collaboration skillsAbility to quickly learn complicated business domains in a highly regulated spaceExperience with teams that work in a highly-collaborative fashion and focus on optimizing for customer valueBonus points:Python + Django/Golang/Postgres architecturesExperience with financial systems.Technologies we use:Python/Django, Golang as the main languages and frameworks of choice.PostgreSQL as our primary data store, Redis and Memcached as our caching layer.Kafka as our task queue.Deployed using Kubernetes in AWS Cloud.We use Covey as part of our hiring and / or promotional process for jobs in NYC and certain features may qualify it as an AEDT. As part of the evaluation process we provide Covey with job requirements and candidate submitted applications. We began using Covey Scout for Inbound on September 19, 2024.

Base pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. The expected salary range for this role is based on the location where the work will be performed and is aligned to one of 3 compensation zones. This role is also eligible to participate in a Robinhood bonus plan and Robinhood’s equity plan. For other locations not listed, compensation can be discussed with your recruiter during the interview process.
