Staff Software Engineer: Technology Modernization

To drive our technology capacity forward, we need a talented Staff Software Engineer to work across multiple groups and products as we continue to modernize our platforms. This individual will be responsible for working across our enterprise to assist with future-ready technology adoption, helping to integrate products built in legacy technology with our cloud-native, microservice-based platforms that will power us forward. Particular areas of emphasis include cloud infrastructure and Golang-based programming. The ideal candidate brings a big-picture vision, strong communication skills, a broad technological knowledge base, and a desire to always be learning and evangelizing new skills.

This position can be based to work out of any Jack Henry office or remotely from any US location. Salary range for this position is $110-180k, depending on candidate experience and geographic location.

What you'll be responsible for: 

Oversees the timely, effective, and quality delivery of software into production.Provides technical/engineering support for new and existing applications from code delivery until the retirement of the application.Collaboratively works with customer support team to resolve or diagnose defects.Performs release validation testing and beta support for projects.Completes product technical design and prototyping, software development, bug verification and resolution.Performs system analysis and programming activities which require extensive research and analysis.Provides technical/engineering support for new and existing applications from code delivery until the retirement of the application.Provides both individual and budget-level task and project effort estimates/costs and oversight.Develops and tests applications based on business requirements and industry best practices.Creates required technical documentation.May contribute to product architecture.May assist less experienced peers.  May act as a team lead.Performs other duties as assigned.

What you'll need to have: 

Minimum of 10 years of experience in software development and/or architecture.Minimum of 5 years of C# and/or Golang.Minimum of 2 years of experience working in cloud-based environments.Experience with APIs.Experience working in DevOps environments or collaborating with DevOps teams.Willingness to be a continual learner as our technological stack evolves.Ability to travel up to 5% for team meetings and training events.

What would be nice for you to have: 

Bachelor’s degree or higher.Experience with Docker, Terraform, and Github actions..Experience with Google Cloud Platform.Experience with containerization.Experience working as an architect or technical lead.Experience delivering proofs-of-concept to technical and nontechnical audiences.Experience in the financial services industry.
