As part of the JH Authorizations Team, you will be at the center of Jack Henry's Technology Modernization Strategy. In your daily activities as a Staff Software Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work on a development team creating new banking applications and shared platform services using an innovative technology stack as well as engage daily with other Software Engineers, Product Owners, and Business Analysts, on your team and across the organization.

This position will be filled to work Remotely within the U.S.

What you'll be responsible for: 

Building, testing, deploying, maintaining, and scaling backend services in a microservices architecture using Golang in an agile development environment.Working collaboratively to identify needs, prioritize and plan work, and develop solutions that keep pace with product development.Perform system analysis and programming activities which may require extensive research.Collaborate with other engineers to propose and execute strategies, ideas and technologies well-suited to the problems at hand.Actively contribute to and improve the engineering organization’s coding standards and best practices. Define or refine standards for the design and development of software.Provide technical direction in coding, standards, design, languages.Assist in training and mentoring peers.Continually growing your technical skill set.Build strong work relationships based on open communication that encourages a creative, thoughtful and enjoyable work environment.Lead by example, exhibiting maturity and poise through interactions with peers and leadership.May perform other job duties as assigned.

What you'll need to have:

Minimum 10 years of professional or educational experience in software development.Minimum of 2 years with Golang.Experience with any or all of the following: continuous integration pipelines, observability, monitoring, Postgres, Docker, Spanner, Kubernetes or microservices architecture.Ability to travel up to 5% to attend JH meetings, training, and/or professional conferences.Resolving real-time service problems by utilizing monitoring tools to deeply analyze service architecture and identify root causes for continuous improvement.

What would be nice for you to have:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science.Experience with .NET Core and/or experience with Scala.Experience in Financial Technology (FinTech).Self-motivation and the ability to work independently.A sense of ownership of your deliverables, from working with product managers and/or business analysts to define the scope, all the way through supporting your work in production. We take pride in the quality software we write as a team and want to work with someone who has the same level of care.Experience with monitoring tools like Datadog.
